WRA Kenya implemented the KASA! Initiative goals and objectives, including fostering and implementing a 3-country advocacy and campaign strategy that seeked to design and execute messages and activities that challenge existing sexual violence and rape culture, transform attitudes and behaviors about bodily integrity and sexual violence, strengthen prevention and support services, and propel related policy and resource change and implementation.
The initiative background
The KASA! Advocacy and Campaign Consultancy is an advocacy and public campaign aimed at addressing sexual violence in three countries i.e. Ghana, Nigeria, and Senegal. This work included carrying out a rapid assessment of the key advocacy challenges and opportunities around sexual violence in three focus countries, identification of strategic advocacy challenges, opportunities, and priorities, and designing and implementing advocacy and campaigning activities. WRA Kenya used its time-tested, power process for the development and implementation of joint advocacy agendas that are meaningful to communities and policymakers and result in concrete outcomes. The process centers on feminist principles, is transformative, and lends itself to participatory scientific inquiry procedures vide listening exercises.
